- One of the world’s leading manufacturer of chip-making equipment and a key supplier to the chip industry. ASML designs, develops, integrates and services advanced systems to produce semiconductors. In short, it makes the machines that print the chips
- A global company founded in 1984 and headquartered in Veldhoven, the Netherlands
- A public company, traded on both Euronext Amsterdam and NASDAQ stock exchanges under the symbol ASML
- The employer of 6,691 employees as of June 30, 2010.

- In 16 countries around the world, with:
- R&D and manufacturing facilities in the Netherlands and the US
- Customer support centers in China, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, the UK and the US
- Training facilities in Asia, Europe and the US.

Who are ASML’s customers?
- ASML supplies most of the world's major chip manufacturers:
- World’s largest DRAM company – Samsung
- World’s largest digital signal processing company – Texas Instruments
- World's largest foundry (made-to-order chipmaker) - TSMC.
ASML shipments based on revenue in Q2 2010
- 74% of all products go to customers in Asia
- 16% of all products go to customers in the US
- 10% of all products go to customers in the EU.
- ASML has several hundred suppliers including leading high tech companies such as Agilent, Carl Zeiss SMT, Cymer and VDL Groep
- ASML outsources the design and manufacturing of the majority of components and subassemblies that make up its lithography products. Up to 90% of the total system costs are supplied externally. This allows for more focus on its core competences: design and integration of its systems.
- ASML publishes an annual sustainability report
- An Ethical Business Conduct Code determines behavior towards employees, customers, shareholders, suppliers and communities.
