What is the mission of ASML Foundation?
The mission of ASML Foundation is to support initiatives of societies to strengthen the ability of underserved groups to improve their social and economic opportunities. In this context we will mainly focus on (technical) education projects for children
Is ASML Foundation associated with the ASML company?
Although ASML Foundation is legally independent, there is a relation with the ASML company as such. ASML Foundation will only grant in those countries where ASML is present. Granting to local societies can be judged in cooperation with local ASML management. Local ASML Staff can also be involved in follow-up activities once a grant has been assigned
Will you support worldwide requests for grants?
Yes, ASML Foundation will operate on a Worldwide basis. However, a request will only be accepted if the concerned project is operational or executed in a country where ASML do have an activity.
How long do the grants last?
The grants of ASML Foundation can vary from a single non-recurrent grant to a multiple grant during some sequential years. In principle the long-term grants should not exceed a period of 3 years.
What sort of projects do you support?
ASML Foundation will support a variety of projects as long as the projects are fitting to the overall objectives of ASML Foundation. Special (technical) education as well as charity projects will be preferred.
How do we qualify for a grant from ASML Foundation?
Unsolicited proposals are unlikely to receive support. ASML Foundation itself will preferably identify eligible organizations or projects. In some cases an unsolicited request will be judged for receiving a grant. Never a grant will be assigned if the request is from a body mentioned under the "exclusions".
How often can we apply for a grant?
It s unlikely to have more applications regarding the same project, this will not be accepted as a new request by ASML Foundation. Of course an organization can always send in a request for another project, if this project is also fitting to the overall objectives of ASML Foundation.
Will our amount requested always be granted if the request is accepted?
Not necessarily. ASML Foundation not only decides about yes or no towards grant proposals, but will also determine the total amount of funding and if likely the grant in portions. Several factors will be taken into account in this respect, e.g. measurable milestones, availability of other sources, the requested amount in relation with the total budget of the project, etc.
What do you expect from the grantees?
Since granting funding to underserved societies is of a very serious nature, we do require a lot of our grantees. It s evident that the grant only will be spent by the grantee to the project as described in the accepted proposal. Also a well set-up regular report has to be send to ASML Foundation. Further the grantee has to accept our Terms of Granting in advance, before ASML Foundation will assign a grant to an organization or a project.
Does ASML Foundation donate also products or services?
No, ASML Foundation is organized in a way that it only supports projects by granting cash. In some special cases however, there may be a possibility to get volunteers involved in collaboration with the local ASML Organization.
