Mechanical Engineering

We offer mechanical engineers a broad range of unique challenges. How about moving 6000 kg masses with an accuracy of 1 mm? Or components that position 300-mm discs with a precision of 1 micron, orienting them to within 20 micro-radians while keeping temperature fluctuations below 10 mK – all in a ultra-high vacuum? And designed for reliability, working 24 hours a day, 365 days a year…

Mechanical engineering at ASML is all about pushing the boundaries. This isn’t ‘copy-and-paste’ engineering; you need to be able to innovate. You’ll be making use of everything you learned at university, and more, to create completely new solutions on time and within budget.

You’ll be working within multidisciplinary teams, offering plenty of opportunity to learn from highly skilled colleagues. Within these teams, our mechanical engineers are real specialists, building up a deep knowledge of a domain over many years.

There are many different specialties within ASML: precision mechanics, mechatronics, contamination control, vacuum techniques, motor control, production methods, mechanical analysis (using FEM calculations), handling, transport and machine coverings. It’s only by integrating all these different areas that we can create our industry-leading products.
