So far, support for local communities and charitable causes is executed by local ASML subsidiaries. Since our people best understand the needs of local communities, this approach will be continued. However, the creation of this international foundation supports ASML’s long-term commitment to the community by sponsoring initiatives that strengthen the ability of those groups that need support to improve their social and economic opportunities. Improvements will be realized preferably by encouraging self reliance for parties involved. ASML Foundation funds defined projects of non-profit organizations and societies located in those countries where ASML is present.

At this moment ASML is operating in over 15 countries. Funding by ASML Foundation can be granted in cooperation with ASML’s local representatives. Funding will primarily be focused on ASML Foundation initiated projects. Requests for funding, however, may be considered by ASML Foundation. Such requests should fall within the scope of ASML Foundation and need to comply with the information requested. Project proposals can cover short-term or long-term activities. However, also the long-term activities will only be supported for a limited period of time. The objectives of a project or activity need to be realistic, measurable and clearly defined. Exclusions: ASML Foundation will not allocate funding to:

• private persons and families
• welfare activities
• disaster related activities
• humanitarian relief projects
• religious activities
• political causes or organizations
