GLS plans up to four years ahead while customer requirements and system bill of materials can change at any time. Any break in material availability can have an unacceptable impact for our customers. So GLS must proactively identify and solve potential issues by working closely with our technical departments and customers, and actively managing an extensive supplier base.
With almost 400 highly educated and motivated people, GLS has contributed to ASML being named "Best Factory" in the Netherlands and in the top 4 in Europe in (INSEAD 2011). And the 'Nederlandse Logistiek Prijs 2013 (Dutch Logistics Prize) was awarded by the vLm, the Dutch Association of Logistics Management

The New Product Logistics (NPL) team is responsible for securing material availability for ASML's new systems during proto phase, early shipping and initial ramp up. This involves the planning and release of materials throughout the logistics chain from system development through suppliers and manufacturing to customers.
The Trade & Infrastructure (T&I) team is present wherever ASML is, streamlining border passage while minimizing duty and handling costs. Shipping advanced systems requires alignment with ASML's sales, account support, factory and finance departments plus customers, riggers, airlines and forwarders to deliver at the right time, quality and price.
The Customer Logistics (CL) team is responsible for meeting service level agreements (SLAs) with customers. ASML's aggressive time-to-market strategy and increasing system functionality means machines are often upgraded at the customer during their lifetime. CL's highly educated workforce drives planning and execution of the logistics aspects of commercial upgrades, field change orders, machine shipments and transfers.
Sourcing Logistics (SL) is ASML's logistics interface to its supply base and responsible for material availability for ASML's factories. SL manages over 100 chains up to seven tiers deep, addressing potential bottlenecks and supply risks before they impact our customers.
Supply Chain Planning (SCP) constructs and executes ASML's global supply chain plan and controls its worldwide inventories. The goal is to optimize gross profit by fulfilling current demand with maximum supply chain flexibility within agreed guidelines.
The Configuration Management (CM) team manages global configuration information, enabling ASML to achieve excellent delivery performance at minimum cost. It creates and controls machine configurations and related master data for ASML's Development & Engineering, Global Logistics Services, Manufacturing, and Customer Services departments.
