We are a high-tech company and leading supplier to the semiconductor industry. We manufacture the complex lithography machines that chip manufacturers use to produce integrated circuits or computer chips. What we do is at the heart of all electronic devices that connect, entertain and inform us. More than 1,300 employees at our Berlin facility develop and manufacture key components for our ASML lithography systems.
 
It is essential that we maintain our security processes and all security operations in our Berlin and Dresden facilities at a consistently high level in order to continue ASML’s growth in Germany.
 
Effective and efficient governance as well as optimized and professional management structures are implemented operationally and they are supported by clear guidelines, procedures and programs as part of our corporate real estate strategy. Part of this strategy will involve verifying our physical security operations strategy. Implementing appropriate physical security concepts will become an essential part of ensuring ASML's business continuity.
 
ASML’s corporate physical security division defines our global strategies, guidelines, projects, requirements and standards, provides guidance and evaluates our buildings in order to protect ASML's intellectual property.
 
The CRE physical security operations division is responsible for correctly implementing the guidelines, processes and requirements and they focus on the personnel and organizational measures that protect ASML's personnel, property and knowledge.
 
Within our German CRE team you will be responsible for day-to-day physical security operations, active defense and risk management that will enable ASML to realize its business targets in a secure environment. You will intensify ASML's security against internal and external physical threats in order to protect our personnel, property and knowledge. Part of this responsible duty will involve you working on an inter-divisional basis and closely with the above-mentioned divisions in our company headquarters.

Your tasks

  • Responsibility for security processes and all security operations in our Berlin and Dresden facilities at both operational and tactical levels

  • Taking appropriate action to identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks in a complex and constantly evolving manufacturing and high-tech environment

  • Driving security in Germany

  • Integrating further developments in our German security operations

  • Managing the security guards

  • Managing the day-to-day operations in the physical security control room

  • Coordinating the training and development programs for our security personnel in Germany

  • Managing operational access management

  • Participating in coordinating and implementing events

  • Running internal investigations of all physical security incidents as well as implementing follow-ups and evaluations

  • Carrying out and evaluating physical security assessments

  • Further developing the security concept according to our global corporate physical security specifications

  • Maintaining relationships with law enforcement and other relevant government agencies

  • Coordinating appropriate budget and resource planning

  • Cooperating with the local works councils

Your profile

  • Completed bachelor's/master's degree in security and risk prevention, a comparable qualification or relevant training combined with extended work experience

  • At least 5 years of professional experience as a security manager in an international high-tech industrial environment

  • Relevant certification, i.e. being a Certified Protection Professional (CPP ASIS) will be an advantage

  • Extensive expertise at operational and tactical levels

  • Extensive contract and project management skills

  • Outstanding operational management qualities and excellent stakeholder management skills

  • Excellent communication skills with staff, the management team, service providers and contractors together with appropriate negotiating skills

  • Strong sense of responsibility

  • Ability to strategically analyze problems and find solutions

  • Good judgment and the ability to make informed decisions

  • Fluent in both spoken and written business English and German

  • Willingness to travel for up to 10% of the time
