This is an apprentice internship for a studentin Embedded Software, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

Job Mission

The EUV Projection software group is responsible for the software of the projection system that makes images reticle patterns on the wafer with nanometer accuracy. The projection software utilizes several complex positioning and thermal control subsystems to accomplish this.
Availability of the machine is an important aspect that can be improved by enabling faster diagnostics of problems.
Our goal is to embed better diagnostic capabilities into the projection software’s architecture which supports a diagnostics tool that can be configured both at design and runtime to log any desired diagnostic data upon certain events.

Job Description

Introduce an architecture together with a prototype tool that exploits that architecture to enable run-time and design-time configuration of logging of diagnostic data. Examples of such diagnostic data are RequisitionLocals of hardware registers and RequisitionLocals of state variables in software components.

Your tasks will include:
• Gathering requirements
• Introducing a software architecture with the following aspects:
○ Plug and play; new software components or hardware must automatically appear in the diagnostic tool.
○ How to avoid having impact on machine performance, so that the system doesn’t crash, and production doesn’t slow down.
○ The software is distributed (over multiple hosts).
• Writing a program to demonstrate

Education

You are a master’s student in Embedded Software, Computer Science, or a related discipline and you preferably have experience with C++. You are creative, curious, goal oriented and capable of working independently. You have good communication skills and you understand the RequisitionLocal of listening with the aim to understand. You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.

This is an apprentice internship with a minimum duration of 5 months.

Please keep in mind that we can only consider students (who are enrolled at a school during the whole internship period) for our internships and graduation assignments.
