In Wilton,CT, ASML seeks a Senior Optical Engineer for its Optical Modules DevelopmentGroup to work with a multi-discipline engineering team to define and developoptical/photonic sensor systems and/or test equipment used within ASML’sphotolithography and/or metrology equipment; using optical engineering/physicsknowledge and an understanding of lithography/metrology equipment, the SeniorOptical Engineer will lead design team (responsible for product or testequipment development) to find solutions to difficult technical problems in anefficient manner; decompose top-level system requirements into lower levelmodule, sub-module, or component level design specifications for product ortest equipment toward the engineering team; derive specifications for module,sub-module, or test equipment consistent with manufacturing practices; developalignment methods for complex optical sensors and systems; develop tooling andtest equipment to support optical sensor alignment methods; prepare leadingsystem engineer documentation (Element Performance Specifications, ElementDesign Specifications, Test Performance Specification; Test Analysis Reports)through review, release and change control; prepare or support the preparationof design reviews for the development team; support integration of newlydesigned sensor systems into ASML’s platforms; support systems in the factoryand in the field by relating observed sensor anomalies to potential systemdefects; clearly communicate progress and status of ongoing technicalactivities to senior management.Master’s degree in Optical Engineering or Physics with an emphasis onoptical system design and analysis and two years of experience in opticalmodule development, knowledge of optical design theory, lasers, polarization,detectors and electro-optical devices, hands-on experience in the design,integration and testing of optical systems or testing equipment used to produceoptical systems, strong written and oral communication skills and occasionaltravel (15%) to ASML facilities in Europe, Asia and within the U.S.required.Apply online at employer.
