In Wilton, CT, ASML seeks Senior Design Engineer 2 to design high endsensor functionality for qualification, calibration and diagnostics and keyalgorithms for sensor data reduction and operation, balancing hardware andsoftware to achieve performance and functionality of high end alignment sensorin lithography tools; apply physics, mathematics, electronics, mechanics, andsoftware knowledge and an understanding of the sensor systems and lithographytools to model, design and de-bug new and existing sensors in complexenvironments (lithography equipment integrated in a wafer fab); performphysical and geometric modelling; conduct simulations in Matlab and othersuitable languages and design tools; develop complex algorithms; plan tests andset up experiments; perform data analysis and visualization including FFT, PSDsand correlation investigations; optimize routines for system improvement;design calibration algorithms and associated software; engage in statisticalprocess control, image processing and pattern recognition, sensor and cameracalibration and signal processing; coordinate transformations and geometriccompensation; perform tolerance analysis; apply Monte Carlo methods; budget forerrors and perform systems engineering. Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on system design,embedded software and system testing, hardware and software interaction andtrade-offs for high performance systems; 2 years of relevant experiencedesigning and testing functionality lithography tools; experiencetroubleshooting complex problems on complex systems, developing and debuggingalgorithms, and using analytical processes to develop test plans to determineproblem root causes; working knowledge of MatLab and/or Labview; and up to 15%domestic and international travel required.
