In Wilton, CT, ASML seeks a Competence Engineer 2 tointroduce new products and corresponding processes from development into volumeproduction, continuously adapting and optimizing the production andinstallation processes, and providing support in connection with the productionorganization; design, maintain and adapt to changed output requirements, and tooptimize production processes, as well as to develop and apply methods ofmeasuring the performance of the production process; support creation of processflow charts; analyze the production process for Wilton project-related parts inthe machine and point out structural problems and bottlenecks, work outsuggestions for improvements and initiate their implementation, often in closecooperation with associated groups as Design, Industrial Engineering andCustomer Support; contribute to the rapid solution of complex faults and takethe necessary initiative to identify and implement practical decisions; bringknowledge to bear on (new) product development projects in order to foreseeproduction problems in the design phase and to improve the manufacturability ofthe product and test designs; review procedures and specifications; withsupport from D&E engineers, create and design production tooling and qualificationtests; validate technical work instructions; support production issues withconcise troubleshooting of optical systems and subsystems; evaluate anddisposition failed parts, with proposed solutions for structural problems;review Failure Analysis Reports from suppliers and help validate the root causeof the failure; evaluate test results from RGA (define) equipment to determineif the parts, assemblies, or modules meet contamination requirements; interfacewith internal and external customers regarding the build and test of assembliesand final products; and support equipment calibration and upkeep and newequipment specification and procurement for all analytical instruments used inmanufacturing.Bachelor’s degree inOptical Engineering or a closely-related field and two years of experience inan engineering environment, experience in manufacturing high precisionopto-mechanical systems or optical assemblies and working knowledge of a CADprogram such as Unigraphics or Solidworks required.Apply online at EEO/AA (W/M/Vets/Disability)Employer.
