Job Mission

We are looking for highly-talented and motivated individuals to join our Advanced Technology team. As Senior Design Engineer you will be responsible for definition and execution of feasibility studies for new, ‘holistic’application products that may bridge between simulation and wafer data, optical sensor metrology and modeling.

Job Description

As a Senior Design Engineer at ASML you will be responsible for conducting feasibility studies of application products related to optical sensor simulations of wafer alignment and metrology overlay sensors as well as utilization of this information to improve quality of lithography system control. You will need to design, develop and realize tasks for feasibility studies which will involve setting up experiments, analyzing large amount of senor measurement data and making recommendation for ASML product portfolio. Optical simulation work will involve interacting with large amount of data for which knowledge of data science techniques is preferred. In addition you will be expected to interact with customers to understand issues and present new solutions. You will work closely with R&D, marketing, field application engineers and sales in ASML, prepare and present technical data and papers in major conferences and customers. Occasional overseas travel is required.


Masters or PhD in Physics, Optics or Data Sciences


  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant job experience in semiconductor related field

  • Familiarity with photolithography and/or optical sensor technologies and applications

  • Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for simulation and prototyping, ability toperform analysis of simulation accuracy, handling large data sets and perform statistical analysis

  • Ability to perform in cross-disciplinary and cross-organizational projects

Context of the position

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings.
