In San Diego, CA, ASML seeks a GSC Engineer 2 to perform highly accurate data analysis based on intensive in-depth research, providing remedial action plans from a remote location to fix unexpected machine down issues in a global work environment bycollecting data remotely via email, internet or company network to find the root cause of the machine problem and provide action plans to fix each issue; during New Product Introduction (NPI) phase, be assigned to the project to gain the skills and knowledge to independently support field escalations; manage own training plan and indicate what is required; coordinate, transfer and share gained skills and knowledge within worldwide Global Support Center (GSC) competency teams to establish and maintain consistent knowledge between continental GSC support teams; during NPI phase, deliver knowledge and escalation-handling to local organization; solve complex technical problems on ASML’s lithographic equipment escalated by customers within the GSC technical competency; analyze, identify sources of and solve complex issues related to the photolithography process; remotely diagnose complex technical escalations from customers and create deterministic forward-looking action plans; interface with internal and external customers where required to explain findings of analysis and proposed action plans; escalate to next support level according to the committed escalation processes and time line agreements; secure a written and verbal pass down of all ongoing escalations towards GSC Asia to assure 24X7 escalation support for customers without added delay; make sure that the right data is available and provide routine updates to management and stakeholders; identify technical problems and support the rollout of improvements for installed machines; mentor trainees and deliver feedback on potential improvements; set up and coordinate yearly competency knowledge exchange weeks between ASML Tech support and the GSC organization; and integrate background information concerning problems and solutions in action/repair plans.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely-related field and experience in Unix (Solaris), Linux (Oracle) or VxWorks programming and C/C++ and Python scripting; experience in network and framework security and motion control; experience with Cisco Router; experience in Fab automation; strong analytic capability; strong oral and written communication skills in English; and up to 30% domestic and international travel required.Apply online at www.asml.com.EEO/AA (W/M/Vets/Disability) employer.
