Job Mission

The semi-conductor market is volatile and hence ASML faces swings in customer demand. To cope with this volatility, ASML needs to be flexible to serve the market in time. Hence ASML defined long term flexibility requirements towards the supply chain as well. The supply chain is characterized by increasing lead times, complexity and costs. ASML wants to find the optimum in translating the flexibility requirements into practical measures.

Job Description

The goal of your assignment is to translate the long term flexibility requirements of ASML into optimized but practical measures to our strategic partner Zeiss, to cope with the fluctuations in the semi-conductor market. You’re expected to:
- Work together with the Logistics Supplier Manager to understand ASML’s flexibility needs
- Perform a thorough analysis on the current situation and the to-be situation
- Bring in your theoretical knowledge to define options on flexibility strategies
- Benchmark flexibility strategies with other and/or similar industries
- Formulate and present key results and recommendations
- Collaborate in workshops with Zeiss, our biggest strategic partner
- Define practical measures which can only work for Zeiss specific and clarify financial implications
- Support the Supplier Manager by executing project management activities like recording minutes of meeting, prepare presentations and work out ideas

Education

- University or Bachelor education in a technical or supply chain field
- Affinity with data crunching, modeling, coding
- Hands-on mentality, persistent in the face of adversity
- Inquisitive, ability to filter the information from the noise
- Communicative, able to formulate clear questions and present results crisply

This is a graduation internship for 5 days a week with duration of a minimum 6 months. The start date is asap.

In today’s complex multi-tier supply chains, this is only possible by creating full transparency in the chains and flexibility at suppliers. SNM manages over 100 chains up to seven tiers deep, addressing potential bottlenecks and supply risks before they impact our customers. It must handle the increased complexity of ASML’s systems while reducing cost of ownership for customers. We work with suppliers to continuously reduce cycle time of components, modules and assemblies, increasing supply chain flexibility.
