Job Mission

ASML is seeking a qualified candidate for a Co-op position (6 to 9 months) inmaterial science and chemistryto investigate design and manufacturing process solution for ultra-high precision optics and ceramics products used inASML’s Lithography products.Thisperson will join the Advance development centerDepartment in Wilton, Connecticut. The main job function is to investigate and create wafer / reticle clamping samples usedin ASML system using coating, etching, polishing, laser ablation and metrologysystems and process, to extend / improve capability and to solve challenging engineering problems associated with achieving nanometer scale precision.

Job Description

*MULTIPLE POSITIONS AVAILABLE*

The main focus of this position will be:

Understand the existing manufacturing process and metrology techniques to investigate know / new ideas.
Create samples / proto-types to improve the wear, roughness and friction performance of coatings by making appropriate material , process and equipment choices.
use coating, etching, polishing, laser ablation and metrology systems and process, to create these samples
Investigate ,material and chemical issues in bonding, gluing , coating and etching process
and flatnessissues / challenges using appropriate material diagnostic toolslike SEM , AFM , WLI, phase shifting interferometers etc
Clearly communicate progress and status of ongoing technical activities to senior management;

Education

Candidate should be working toward a master or a Ph.D. in Physics, Material Sciences, or Chemistry.

Student with high potential in optical design and engineering working toward a BS will be considered.

Preferred GPA is 3.5 or above; minimum GPA 3.0

Beable to quickly acquire technical knowledge from documentation andon-the-job training and be capable of thoroughly investigating technicalissues (analytically and hands-on in a lab)
