In San Jose, CA, Hermes Microvision, Inc. seeks Design Engineer 2 to perform a variety of engineering tasks including testing, analyzing, troubleshooting and implementing subassemblies and modules to meet requirements of volume management and mass properties; applies knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing; assumes responsibility for the quality of the Machine System Layout for ASML-HMI and works with project key users to identify areas needing conflict resolution; identifies and coordinates Machine System Layout training as needed for department engineers; provides weekly status reports on the quality of volume files for San Jose HMI site and aligns with the ASML Veldhoven site on cross site volume conflict; manages a project plan including key deliverables, timeline, and budget; drives full documentation of volume files to meet the requirements of the ASML Machine System Layout team; manages development activities using the Product Generation Process to align with the requirements of generating a quality volume file; establishes objectives and directs the activities of relevant internal or external resource and monitors/guides as needed to ensure quality deliverables; establishes objectives and assignments to relevant internal or external resource and monitors/guides as needed to ensure task completion of milestones and project deliverables; interacts closely with development engineers, scientists, suppliers, and QA to resolve quality issues; and develops metrics as needed to report on the quality of the engineering bill of material (BOM) to defined milestones.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience; experience managing complex mechanical system/sub-system and its industrialization; experience designing, fabricating and testing mechanical, electro-mechanical and/or opto-mechanical modules and related system interfaces for capital equipment tools; experience with high voltage and vacuum systems; experience creatively solving complex design problems; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats; familiarity with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail systems; experience with Unigraphics/NX and/or other design/analysis packages; and 10% international travel required.Apply online at www.asml.com.EEO/AA (W/M/Vets/Disability) employer.
