Job Mission

At ASML Delft you will work in multi-disciplinary teams in a highly dynamic environment. It is expected from you that you are flexible, ambitious and a team player. You have strong communication skills to manage ASML internal stakeholders, but also external supplier and parties when needed.

You have affinity with precision mechanics and are driven to understand every structure in detail. You approach complex problems in a structured manner. Being able to start off with a set of input requirements, you deliver concepts and detailed designs. These designs will be used in a production environment. So robustness, manufacturability but also operator-friendliness are crucial aspects to consider at all times.

Job Description

At ASML Delft we focus on development of electron-optical inspection tools. It’s a cost-competitive market, demanding fast iterations and high quality. You:

  • Deliver mechanical solutions on a conceptual level, using input from various stakeholders.
  • Create and finalize designs in detail using NX CAD.
  • Conduct problem solving on mechanical fit and performance issues.
  • Actively participate in design process and collaborate with experts in the fields of electrical engineering, electron optics and mechatronics.
  • Operate as a team-player in cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with vendors on the fabrication of mechanical parts.


Master in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent


  • You have at least 2 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the field of precision mechanics.
  • Experience with designing systems for vacuum is preferred.
  • Proficient with 3D solid modeling software and usage for design conceptualization and realization.
  • Basic experience with mechanical analytical techniques, including “first principle” engineering equations and Finite Element
  • Analysis such as stress / strain / deformation, modal response, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to derive conclusions from analysis and make practical recommendations.
  • Shown strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills

  • Ability to work in an international multicultural setting.
  • Ability to excel in creative design and flawless execution of precision parts/(sub)modules.

Context of the position

You will be part of the mechanics and mechatronics group of ASML Delft, but will operate within multi-disciplinary teams delivering to project leads and other stakeholders.

This group belongs to the sector of Development & Engineering department of ASML, which is responsible for the specifications and designs of all ASML products, and has his HQ in Veldhoven.

You will be located in Delft, together with approximately 100 other colleagues with various disciplines. You are expected to be flexible to travel to Veldhoven incidentally when work requires. For these situations travel arrangements do apply.
