Job Mission

The candidate is responsible for securing and optimizing the lifetime EUV optical surfaces and coatings to enable cost effective and reliable EUV system performance for all EUV customers.

Job Description

  • The candidate applies his or her project management expertise to manage the multi-disciplinary project of 20-25 FTE
  • Creates and uses detailed team plan (deliverables, who, when)
  • Interface with and report to stakeholders including the program management
  • Build and coach a multi-disciplinary project team;
  • Able to balance and manage the triple constraint (timing, budget and scope) in a transparent way in line with the business aspects.
  • Solve problems/escalations with team and lead the team
  • Build and maintain a close relationship with the major customers and suppliers (e.g. Zeiss) as well as assure interface and collaboration with ASML research


MSc or PhD, preferably Material Science, Chemical engineering or Physics


  • >3y experience, preferably in project management and realization of a highly complex system or Main Delivery Owner enthusiastic to make the next step
  • Experience with triple constraint management
  • Experience with building and leading multi-disciplinary teams

Context of the position

The D&E Optical Column department is part of the EUV Business line of ASML. Its task is to develop, deliver, integrate and qualify the optical column including metrology applications in spec, within time and budget. This vacancy concerns the lifetime part in all EUV optics and EUV sensors in the optical column.

The project manager of Optics Lifetime reports to the group Optics Lifetime, and is managing multidisciplinary projects. The group’s mission is to protect, predict and validate the transmission of all EUV optical surfaces and coatings of the EUV system over lifetime.

  • We drive system design requirements to protect and clean EUV optical surfaces and coatings
  • We develop knowledge and models (scaling laws) to predict and prevent EUV (plasma) driven contamination and (coating) degradation mechanisms
  • We provide means and methods for full lifetime validation and EUV (plasma) qualification

The position is a.i. for a considerable period of time, with an outlook on a similar project management positions with the EUV Optical Column department
