Job Mission

As part of the Process and Cleanliness group you will assure that the hardware design is meeting the cleanliness specifications during the design and volume phases of the product. You will achieve that by focusing on the correct cleanliness tests and verification methods during the design and production phases. You will then adjust the process if necessary, making sure that the cleanliness specifications are properly recorded in the TPD. You are also expected to support the suppliers in understanding our cleanliness specifications, so that they test the correct parameters during the volume phase.

This position requires extended stay at our partner's location in Canada, where you will work on reducing pellicle contamination by applying our verification methods at each production step, locating contamination sources and proposing structural or procedural improvements.

Job Description

  • Define cleanliness strategies for new product designs.
  • Executing/leading design FMEAs for cleanliness of products.
  • Define improvement action plans and get them implemented in the designs.
  • Execute DOEs for cleanliness parameters on process and product level.


Bachelor or Master degree in Chemistry is preferred. Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Material Science with a clear specialization towards cleanliness of parts. Having a Black Belt certification is a pre.


  • At least 2 years of working experience in semiconductor industry.
  • Experience in cleanliness.
  • Experience with FMEAs, DOE, 6 Sigma, ISO cleanliness standards.
  • Experience with supporting hardware projects in the design phase on cleanliness.
  • Experience with RGA/XPS/SEM measurements.
  • Experience with software that supports statistical analysis (e.g. Minitab)

Context of the position

The holder of the position reports to the group leader of Process and Cleanliness group of Defectivity department and is operational within multidisciplinary projects. The Defectivity department is part of the sector Development & Engineering.
