Job Mission

Manage and/or provide guidance for maintaining configurable items and ensuring consistency of Engineering Bill of Materials (Eng. BoM) and top level Operational Bill of Materials (e.g. Mfg. BoM, Pack. BoM, etc.) in a multi-function environment with 1,000+ users at the working location.

Job Description

-Independently evaluate, select and BOM management techniques, procedures, and criteria to maintain multiple Production Module configurations in several BOM structures, which can potentially be 150% BOMs.
-Independently evaluate, select and apply 3D modeling techniques, procedures, and criteria to support multiple Production Module configurations.
-Proactively support several design projects at a time during the Engineering Change process, ensure proper Impact Analysis and Part Identification of configuration items and upper level structures.
-Understand and support Configuration Based Planning (CBP) as part of comprehensive BOM management across several design projects at a time.
-Safeguard synchronization between various BOMs of the same product.
-Ensure adequate documentation to describe best BOM management practices.
-Develop in-house training in various delivery formats, provide technical guidance to users.
-Organize and execute BOM Management verification and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for newly deployed functionality, develop and document test plans and test cases.
-Establish business readiness KPIs for sustaining BOM Management, ensure adequate reporting.
-Be open minded for new developments and trends also related to areas beyond own expertise, deduce recommendations for continuous improvement.

Education

-Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electrical or System Engineering
-CMII certification is a plus

Experience

-Minimum 5-7 years of BOM Management and Engineering Change experience; design background is a plus

Personal skills

-Knowledge of Configuration Management in general and BOM management in particular.
-Knowledge of Engineering Change process.
-Defines clear / quantified priorities according to importance and urgency.
-Experience in working with multiple BOMs defining the same product (e.g. Eng. BOM and MFG BOM).
-Proven ability to identify primary technical needs from complex issues.
-Proven ability to make and execute decisions independently.
-Proven ability to conceive continuous improvement processes in a peer team environment.
-Strong presentation skills, ability to teach up to 4-hour long classes.
-Strong communication and business writing skills.
-Software skills – Engineering Data Management (latest version of TC preferred), MS Office, SAP.
-Working knowledge of parametric CAD incl. large assembly management (latest version of NX preferred).
-Working knowledge of SharePoint.
