Job Mission

The Development & Engineering (DE) Robust Design group consists of experts in the field of FMEA, Six Sigma and reliability engineering. The group delivers support in major projects by working closely together with system engineers, function architects and engineers in risk identification, understanding physics of failure and risk mitigation actions.

Methods and tools – suited to be applied by the ASML development organization – need to be developed, improved and implemented in daily WoW to bring ASML further in its challenge to deliver high quality products in balance with development speed.

Job Description

You will be leading a group of about 18 engineers and architects as part of the DE department Robust Design and TTC (Technical Training Center). You act as solution provider for new development projects and assess how to provide the right competence support by means of training plans and engineer’s allocation. You will become the competence owner FMEA, Six Sigma and Reliability Engineering. You will become the process owner of the Design for Reliability process including KPI reporting on process adherence. You stimulate and facilitate the personal development of group members.

Main Responsibilities:

  • The Group Leader hires, coaches and instructs the members of the group: assigns tasks, sets priorities, solves problems, monitors budgets
  • The Group Leader organizes a strong engagement within the knowledge network of reliability/availability expert community (ARES), with the quality community (DE,Global Quality and other sectors) and with structural improvement teams (incl CSI, ONE etc.)
  • The Group Leader takes care that interaction and stakeholder management with the diverse and relevant parties (e.g. Development & Engineering, system engineering, program organization) is in place.
  • The Group Leader takes care that the group has a balanced focus on providing long and short term Robust design solutions.
  • The Group Leader contributes to the definition and implementation of department policy and department planning, including personnel, budgets, investments, resources and methods etc.
  • Owner of the development and maintenance of competence roadmaps. You ensure the availability and adoption of best known methods, standards and tooling. You facilitate an effective learning feedback cycle and manage the relations of other competence owners in and outside ASML.
  • In cooperation with department managers and project management, the Group Leader is responsible for the planning and allocation ofengineers and architects to the various project activities.

Education

MSc or PhD degree in Technical engineering or Applied Physics, Chemistry or similar. Knowledge in Six Sigma (green belt or black level), FMEA and/or Reliability engineering is an advantage.

Experience

You have a proven experience and affinity with managing groups or project leadership (> 5 years) in the technical industry. You have experience in product development organizations and a track record in change management.
