In Wilton, CT, ASML seeks Architect 2 to integrate “off-the-shelf” robotics into capital equipment, developing with a cross sector team all related aspects such as dynamics, end effector design, and controls; design custom mechatronics systems, including translating stages, linear motors, and sensors; be responsible for “sustaining engineering” and escalation resolution tasks, resolving equipment design issues in a timely fashion as they arise at customer sites; participate in concept design studies for next generation equipment and subsystems; create budgets and definitions for new modules; perform verification of SDS content; serve as technical deputy to project lead for up to 25 cross-sector team members in matrix organization; use expertise to inform PDM and Senior Architect; make decisions within team; take direction from system architects and senior engineering mentors who are leading the development effort of critical large capital equipment.The occupations of the team members include mechatronics engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers, customer service engineers, competency engineers, global service engineers, and various factory personnel as needed on a case-by-case basis (including production engineers, technicians, equipment engineers and manufacturing engineers).Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a closely-related field and two years of relevant experience; mechatronics engineering background or specialization in closely-related areas such as robotics; experience troubleshooting legacy designs to determine potential risks, failure modes, and corrective actions; basic experience with mechatronics behavior predictive modeling and methods, including “first principle” engineering equations and other techniques; experience in proof of concept development and design of experiments for a wide range of project needs; experience running complex mechatronic systems for test and qualification of design changes; and strong technical writing and communication skills, including experience presenting results based on strong statistical evidence to audiences of a wide range of technical abilities; and 10-25% travel to customer, vendor, and ASML corporate sites, including domestic and international locations required.Apply online at www.asml.com.EEO/AA (W/M/Vets/Disability) employer.
