The senior competence engineer is able to develop and execute a plan with key performance indicators to drive and implement the global transport management strategy within ASML. This role should be able to understand the service level requirements and customer expectation as well as the freight companies capabilities for international and domestic shipments. Able to use the big data and data mining skills to drive cost and performance improvements within the Freight Department. This role responsible to build structure to the global transportation processes supported with information technology systems.

Job Description

1. Transport Management System.

  • Improves the TMS adherence.
  • Manage different streamlines to conduct a better level of usage of TMS.
  • Organize business stakeholders and technology solution teams to scope, plan, track, and report on TMS adoption project deliverables.
  • Prepare and validate a GAP analysis in between the current Transport Management System (TMS) adherence/compliance and the desirable levels.

2. Lead process improvements initiatives making sure these are implemented and executed.

  • Provide subject matter expertise for transportation processes.
  • Own (validate, develop, improve and document) identified transportation related processes, including operational and customs related processes.
  • Develop process to secure end-to-end visibility in the logistics infrastructure.
  • Provide support to Request for Proposal process, including alignment with Logistics Service Provider on required process change.
  • Secures Logistics Infrastructure requirements into the Product Generation process (Additional).

3. Documentation Management.

  • Update and maintain project SharePoint sites.
  • Document management/Training: Ensure project documentation is complete and effectively communicated to appropriate persons and department.

4. Other key responsibilities.

  • Develop and sustain cooperative cross-functional working relationships to inspire, influence, motivate, and guide others towards goal accomplishments.


Master or Bachelor degree in Logistics.


  • From 5 to 10 year of experience in complex supply chains.
  • Strong Logistics knowledge (Transportation and Transport Management Systems)
  • Office application knowledge.
  • Project Management.
  • ERP (Preferable SAP, Supply chain and Logistics Modules).
  • Green Belt of equivalent.
  • Operational process mapping.
  • Industry Knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Context of the position

As Logistics service operations we guarantee the distribution of materials by organizing and operating a logistic network of warehouses, customs and freight.
Position in the value chain:
To provide the tools to automate the processing of the shipments execution and their cost management. The internal customers are, service warehouses, 3PL’s factory warehouses, CSCM, SNM, CS.
