Job Mission

The ASML LSO Shipping team to which this role belongs, manages all ASML’s Capital Equipment shipments to our customers all over the world, under the specific transportation requirements for moving such goods.
The Transportation Planner is responsible to secure the timely planning of assigned capital equipment (System & Non-System) within agreed framework and requirements, and manage actions and exceptions to ensure timely delivery at the various worldwide destinations. This positions acts as subject matter expert for shipment planning and all related processes and required tools to facilitate prompt and efficient planning execution and related communication.

Job Description


  • Shipment planning according to factory output schedule or non-system shipment requests
  • Active coordination of requirements with internal stakeholders and appointed logistics service providers
  • Maintain, monitor, update and communicate the planning schedule and related exceptions
  • Create or update shipment forecast plan and share promptly and consistently with 3PLs
  • Lead process review forums and own driving changes to improve the planning process
  • Own On-Time planning of systems and non-systems in line with demand

Shipment Execution:

  • Monitor production/packing and shipment request process
  • Create and verify all transportation documentation and manage related exceptions
  • Enforce shipping request process
  • Support development of tools and processes

Administration and Reporting:

  • Analyze and action information on shipment supervision reports from service providers
  • Monitor shipping process exceptions
  • Monitor and advise on shipping cost trends and opportunities for efficiencies
    Improvement Initiatives:
  • Identifies areas of improvement in the transportation planning operations in alignment with the network and 3PL capabilities.
  • Contribute to operational reviews with 3PL’s to manage amongst others, service, cost and quality
  • Own and deliver on assigned improvement initiatives


Bachelor’s degree in a logistics field


  • Deep understanding of transportation management and planning systems and processes
  • Hands-on logistics operations experience is an advantage
  • 3-7 years in a logistics/freight planning function
  • Experience from a 3PL, freight forwarding or transportation industry is an advantage
