Are you energized by being the driving force of a team, guiding them towards delivery of mechatronics (sub)systems within ASMLs Lithography machines? Do you know everything about scrum and do you have the technical capability to understand the technical challenges? And are you capable to interact with people with different disciplines, levels, and cultural backgrounds? Then we can offer you an attractive position as Scrum Master in our Mechatronics Systems Development department.
As Scrum Master you are leading the team by facilitating the scrum process and helping the team to improve itself.
You will lead a team which is responsible for the delivery of a mechatronic system or function in our product, on time, within budget and with the agreed quality. Multiple technical disciplines work in your team in a concurrent engineering way. You will use agile practices and teamwork skills to solve problems and optimize team performance. Your responsibilities are to:
-Lead, build and facilitate the scrum team to become high performance
-Create transparency and alignment on scrum team speed, quality of deliverables and happiness
-Ensure timely delivery from the scrum team by removing impediments
-Responsible for the technical way of working and ensures quality related to own discipline is secured in the team
-Supplier management and outsourcing execution (rituals)
-Team up with the Product Owner to slice the work into smaller valuable pieces
-Keep the scrum team stable over a longer period of time, by shielding them from external interferences
-Provide analyses of current agile (work)processes, evaluate bottlenecks and advice regarding improvements in agile processes and procedures
-Help the people around the scrum team to understand which interaction with the team is helpful or not
-Ensure dependencies are managed by the team
Technical University masters/PhD in Mechanical engineering, Control, Dynamics, Electrical engineering or Technical Physics
-Experience as scrum master working in a multidisciplinary Scrum/agile environment
-Solid technical background (both theoretical and practical) in one or more of the following disciplines: mechatronics, mechanics or electronics.
-Experience in multidisciplinary project work involving mechatronics, optics, electronics and software as team lead or project lead is a pre.
-Coaching on agile practices and behavior
-Team building and coach team members to act as a team
-Acts as a servant leader and escalation level for the team
-Be present and drive the scrum ceremonies
-Disciplined execution of the scrum process, helping the team to understand why this is important
-Drive team level continuous improvement
-Ensure alignment with other Scrum Masters on dependencies
-Say NO when required to ensure focus is kept and keep the teams from getting distracted
-Challenge the team in view of the Agile KPIs towards greater efficiency
-Ensure collaboration between scrum teams
Context of the position
Within ASML the sector Development & Engineering is responsible for the specification and the design of the ASML products. The department Mechatronics Systems Development is responsible for specification, design, integration and qualification of the mechatronics sub-systems, functions and components which are fitted into the end products. The main focus is on nanometer-accuracy positioning of high speed components. Control engineering, dynamics, actuator design, position measurement systems and material handling are part of this department’s main competences.
The holder of the position reports to a mechatronic group lead and is operational within multidisciplinary projects.
