Job Mission

Working from our Newtown, CT facility, the Incoming Material Quality Inspector at ASML is responsible for inspecting, verifying, and approving various aspects of all Mechanical parts supplied to ASML in Wilton CT. These parts are inspected to ensure full compliance with all design specifications and requirements as described by the ASML Technical Product Documentation. All non-conforming features are meticulously and clearly documented in an inspection report and SAP and sent to engineering for evaluation. This position also works closely with Development Engineering to measure new or prototype products, Production Engineering to assist in failure analysis for existing products, and, interacts closely with logistics personnel, production planners, service planners to assure good product is available for production as soon as possible.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with applicants who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Job Description

  • Measure first article mechanical parts to 100% of Technical Product Document to verify supplier’s ability to produce parts to ASML specifications. and/or limited features on volume products or test equipment material.
  • Set up and measure Mechanical Parts on Surface plate utilizing standard inspection tooling including Height Gage, Indicators, and leveling plates.
  • Program and run Brown and Sharp CMM to measure mechanical parts and generate reports with point maps to submit to Engineering and Supplier for evaluation.
  • Program Mitutoyo 606 Vision Inspection system to measure mechanical parts and or sub-assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and Technical Product Documents.
  • Document inspection results by writing Material Notification reports for non-conforming parts using SAP to qualify and quantify observed deviations from the product Technical Product Document.
  • Material Handling experience a plus, with use of electric forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies overhead crane and other related equipment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Closely control the use of tools, materials and equipment; Verify conformance of incoming materials.
  • Issue non-conformity reports for all non-conforming materials.
  • Maintain work area in accordance with 5S [+1] principles.
  • Properlytransfer material in SAP for stock, rework or scrap.
  • Maintain material status in Excel (or similar) spreadsheet.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with all company regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications

Education

Associates Degree or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Certified in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing [GD&T].Strong knowledge would also be considered.
  • Understanding and experience reading and interpreting Unigraphics CAD models.
  • Strong Ability to read and understand engineering drawings used to inspect machined parts.
  • Proficient with dimensional inspection and test equipment (Caliper, Micrometer, Pin Gauges, Gauge Blocks, Micro Hite Gauge, Go-No Go Gauge, Depth Gauge etc.).
  • Proficient in surface plate layout and dimensional inspection techniques.
  • 3 years of dedicated CMM programming using PCDMIS or CALYPSO.
  • Working knowledge of Vision System measurements.
  • Experience or knowledge of working with very tight tolerances and specifications (in the 2-micron range).
  • Proficient with; Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word(and SAP a plus).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Can work under deadlines.
  • The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
  • Must be willing to work a compressed work week schedule – twelve-hour long shift and rotating from three to four days a week.
