No experience (Student)

Job Category

Mechanical engineering

Are you a Mechanical Engineering student with a strong drive and the willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team? Then this assignment could be interesting for you.

Job Mission

You will be working in the mechanical department in the Manufacturing and Service tooling group. In this group we deliver with the team the best possible solution (integrated or as a tool) in order to manufacture and service opto-mechanical sensor modules within ASML’s high precision systems.

Job Description

Within one of the opto-mechanical projects we have a tool that malfunctions often without clear root cause. The root cause has been investigated by an intern last year and a hypothesis of the root cause had been made.

Your task is to verify this hypothesis, make design proposals to improve the design of the tool, make a trade-off between these design proposals and test the new design tool extensively on its base requirements.

You will encounter challenges not only in precision mechanics, but also electronics and software. How will the mechanical design change influence function, software and electronics?

It is possible to adapt this assignment in order to meet your study goals.

You are a Bachelor graduate or a Master student with a background in Mechanical Engineering. Knowledge of Design Principles is a must. You have a pro-active attitude and are able to work independently. The English language is required, both written and verbally.

This is a Bachelor graduation assignment or a Master internship with a duration of 5+ months. The start date is as of October 2020.

Please keep in mind that we can only consider students (who are enrolled at a school during the whole internship period) for our internships and graduation assignments.
