As a Vacuum system Design Engineer for electron beam system, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks including designing, developing, testing, analyzing, troubleshooting and implementing sub-assemblies and modules as you create and evaluate designs to meet requirements of specified applications. Your design activities will include high vacuum system design and implementation, vacuum control strategy design, system performance qualification and diagnostic. By tapping into your engineering acumen, you research and select future key suppliers for consideration as turn-key providers of sub-systems as well as develop resolutions to critical issues and broad design matters. You will work on issues that impact design/selling success or address future concepts, products, or technologies.
Developvacuum related module from concept to completion, and final release tomanufacturing based on requirements of functionality, performance,serviceability and availability for electron beam systems and subsystems.
CreateVacuum module’s element performance specification and element designspecification.
Createdetailed 3D model and 2D drawings of parts and assemblies using CADsoftware for manufacturing and integration.
Leaddesign reviews, budget development, risk assessment and mitigation,design and execution of experiments, verification processes, validationprocesses.
Workwith vendors and consultants to select, develop, analyze and fabricatecomponents and sub-assemblies.
Workcross-functionally and drive implementation of design best practices intoproduct design.
Deliverclear technical documents, provide effective presentation and written evaluationsto communicate concepts, designs, test results, etc.
Leadintegration, qualification and diagnostic process of vacuum modules onprotos
Provide tech support for system integration process, manufacturing process and field troubleshooting process.
BA,MS or PHD related to Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
StrongHands-on proficiency with 3D modeling & 2D detailed drawings using CADsoftware including but not limited to Solidworks and NX.
3+years of hands-on experience in mechanical hardware developing within acorporate setting working on a complex engineering product.
2+years of hands-on experience with vacuum standard parts including but notlimited to pumps, valves, gauges etc.
Experiencein designing mechanical parts and assemblies for vacuum application.
Hands-onexperience with vacuum system operation and diagnostic.
2+years of applicable relevant experience on a semiconductor equipmentmechanical product is desired.
Knowledgewith materials and material selection, manufacturing and cleaning processes.
Experience in designing,fabrication, and testing of mechanical, electro-mechanical modules, andrelated system interfaces for capital equipment tools.
Teamwork spirit with teammembers
Good capability to evaluate andwork outside contractors, consultants, and machine shops.
Excellent English written andverbal communication skills.
Able/willing to travel about 5%
