Job Mission

EUV pellicles are thin films that protects the EUV reticle for dust particles. To reduce absorption of EUV light, they must be extremely thin.

EUV pellicles are extremely thin (<100 nm) and exposed to very harsh conditions: high temperatures, plasma and EUV radiation. It is very important that the pellicles do not break. Due to the manufacturing process, it cannot be prevented that defects are present in the pellicle.

Job Description

In this assignment, you will investigate the effect of the defects on the breakage risks under different external loads. The majority of the investigations will be done using modelling.


You are a Bachelor or Master student with a background in Physics or Material Science. You should have affinity with modelling and have basic knowledge of material physics / mechanics. The English language is required, both written and verbally.

This is an apprentice or graduation internship for minimum 5 months. The start date is as soon as possible.

Please keep in mind that we can only consider students (who are enrolled at a school during the whole internship period) for our internships and graduation assignments.
