As the Portfolio Manager you are responsible for the ASML Security Portfolio, including providing quality assurance on project definition, project governance, project quality, monitoring the execution by project leads and security domain managers and ensuring effective stakeholder management.

Job Mission

Your key focus is monitoring and maintaining an annual portfolio of Security solutions with a team of Sector Risk Managers and Security Domain Managers who in turn manage Project Leads, Architects, Security Specialists and External Service Providers for implementations.

You will monitor and create transparency if projects are adequately led, resourced and remain on track against the triple constraints; Time, Budget and Scope.

Job Description

  • Alignment with business sectors on sector roadmap and (cross) sector dependencies and timing
  • Align on budgets and progress of programs
  • Bi-yearly alignment on overall planning
  • Determine based on priority settings from the ASML Security platform and Security Portfolio meeting the relevant roadmap topics and timing
  • Responsible for ensuring that the project management system is up to date and accurately portrays the status of the portfolio of programs and projects.Report on the risk mitigation status of cross sector risks.
  • Provide quality assurance that Security Domain Manager and Project Lead define the IN and OUT of scope of the project;Processes, deliverables, user groups, geographies, applications, data, etc. are clearly and unambiguously defined by the PLs;
  • Ensures project roles and responsibilities, deliverables, time estimates and resources (including personnel, technology and equipment) are defined by the Security Domain Manager and Project Lead;
  • Ensures a clear and communicated RFC-procedure for scope changes is put in place by the PLs. Validate each RFC on impact on Scope, Budget, Time and Risk.
  • Uses portfolio / project management systems and tools to ensure PLs control the budget and expenses;
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of quality standards in the Security Means & Methods.
  • Executes pro-active stakeholder management (within Security) during the projects;
  • Needs to be able to use portfolio project management tools, to schedule and track progress of the work performed.


  • Academic working and thinking level, ideally, candidate will have a Master degree in an engineering discipline.


  • Knowledge of program and project management (Prince-2 / PMBOK/APMP)
  • Background in Information Security.
  • Minimum of 4 years in Project Management in complex high tech business environment;
  • Extensive experience in IT integration projects and/ Information Security development projects is a must.

Context of the position

The Portfolio Management Officer reports to the manager of the Central Information Security Office.

Projects vary in size and time. Larger projects typically go over 1 Month and up to 2 year lead time. Projects with strong interdependencies are managed as a program.
