Introduction

ASML’s Applications products are critical elements in the semiconductor manufacturing process. Proto systems are used for verification of existing and new functionality, as well as for qualifying system releases. Proto systems are expensive and scarce resources, and therefore are in continuous operation. This requires high availability and flawless operation. In your role as proto engineer, you play a key role to achieve this. Not only are you responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting issues once they occur, but you are also involved in system integration, test preparation and test execution on proto systems.

Job Mission

In your role as proto engineer you ensure efficient and effective integration and test activities on the proto machines.
You assure high availability and flawless operation of these proto systems. You prepare proto systems for integration and test activities, perform troubleshooting and also take part in test execution where possible. You work together with proto integrators (responsible for planning), system test engineers and your fellow proto engineer team members.

Job Description

You have the following tasks:
-Assure high availability and flawless operation of proto systems
-Keep the machines in a perfect state: hardware and software configuration up to date and well-functioning
-Perform proto system maintenance activities and monitor proto system performance
-Plan and coordinate the on-time availability of the right parts and tools for hardware changes (e.g. upgrades)
-Prepare proto systems for testing
-Participate in testing and review test requests
-Provide technical support to D&E engineers
-Working in shifts is preferred, alternating weekly between early shift (6.30-15.00) and late shift (13.30-22.00)
Keywords: proto systems, system integration, work in shifts, hardware, software, mechanics, coordination, multi-discipline, maintenance, testing, process-adherence, semiconductor industry, high-tech

Education

HBO Technical, mechanical-mechatronics

Experience

Proven background of at least 3 years in servicing high-tech equipment, in a hardware/software environment.

Personal skills

-Pro-active “make it happen” attitude
-Self-starter and result driven
-Able to coordinate and align with many different stakeholders
-Able to operate in a dynamic environment and accept change
-Flexible: willing to work in shifts, sometimes availability in weekends may be required
-Quality-minded, safety-aware and accurate in way of working

Context of the position

The position is in the System Integration group within the AD DE Process Window Detection Software Department in the business line Applications.
The System Integration group is part of D&E (Design and Engineering) and responsible for the integration of modules into a proto system and prove that the system can meet the specifications. Proto systems are used to verify the design concept at system level, which includes hardware and software. The end goal is to find all issues before the new system is pilot, i.e. in the factory and at the customer.
