With the immense growth of ASML in the last few years, there is a need to provide the software developers with the right tools to ensure our development remains efficient and can use the latest technology that is available in the market.
The BOA (Break Out Archive) plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our software developers can work in a modern development environment with the latest tools to ensure that ASML keeps on delivering right features with right timing to our customers enabling them to continue their semiconductor roadmap.
Enabling the transition from a ClearCase based environment to a git based one, we developed a modern environment using the latest, off the shelf tools like Gradle, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Artifactory which makes it possible to develop software more efficient and in an Agile way.
Implement and extend a modern software development environment (mostly C/C++/Python) that is attached to the legacy tooling. You will be building the new environment and the bridge from old to new.
As a DevOps Engineer you will be further developing the BOA development environment as a member of an Agile team. With the team, you will be responsible for implementing new features, fixing issues and supporting users of the environment. You will closely collaborate with teams inside and outside of the ART to deliver a stable and usable product.
Formal education should include Bachelor or Master level education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields. Also you are well acquainted with software development and have relevant proven experience in large technical complex environments.
We are looking for candidates who are highly experienced in:
- TDD (Test Driven Development);
- CT/CI/CD (Continuous Testing/Integration/Delivery)
- Agile / SAFe
- Make based build systems
- Gradle (Groovy, Java)
- Linux / Unix systems
Experience with the following technologies represents an advantage:
- Perl and/or Python
You are a quick and eager learner of unfamiliar tools and technologies
You have considerable experience in programming within a high-tech, enterprise environment
You have a drive towards analyzing and solving problems
You are pragmatic, but prefers quality over quick fixes
You feel comfortable working in a complex environment

Context of the position
The Break Out Achive team is part of the department of Engineering IT - Scanner Innovation, that currently consists of 4 Agile teams in an Agile Release Train. The goal of the ART is to provide a software development platform (mainly related to the build environment) for more than 2000 developers that are active in building the software for the ASML scanner lithography products.
Looking at the trend of growth and software complexity, the Break Out Archive team needs to grow, making the software infrastructure a corner stone for ensuring efficiency for software development.
