Job Mission

As an Intern in Process Improvement and Integration (PI&I), you will be charged with enhancing the Functional Onboarding program for Cymer Light Source departments.

The Intern project will focus on formalizing the effective transfer of the core knowledge required for a new hire or transfer to quickly become a valued contributor.

The Intern will be required to use the ADDIE training development model (see below) to leverage the new Functional Onboarding program and drive content development through to completion. The end result will be a recorded e-Learning deployed in the ASML learning management system (myLearning).

To accomplish this task, the Intern will be assigned a functional department(s), provided with a list of Subject Matter Experts (SME) to interview, assess training requirements, design the learning objectives and delivery format, develop a prototype course, pilot the training, collect feedback; update, as needed, then deploy via e-Learning in the myLearning platform.


  • Analyze- capture the instructional goals, target audience, and required resources
  • Design – learning solution aligned with objectives
  • Develop – learning resources and pilot test
  • Implement- the learning solution through dynamic myLearning assignment

In addition, the Intern will serve as Project Manager for the Functional Onboarding program during the summer of 2021. This includes identifying and scheduling reviews of learning objectives, content development, and pilots for the Functional Onboarding project.

Job Description

  • Work in a team environment alongside functional SME.
  • Provide learning strategy and styles to develop effective learning content.
  • Project Manage the Functional Onboarding training project
  • The goal of the internship is to gain experience in working in a corporate setting and provide hands-on experience solving problems in a team environment.
  • Interns will be required to document and present their findings in an Executive Review at the end of the summer to showcase what they achieved.


  • Must be at least an undergraduate Junior status.If Senior, must be graduating no sooner than December 2021.
  • Degree in Communication, Learning & Development, or Business.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree.


  • Although not required, knowledge and/or experience with ADDIE training development model is preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge regarding Learning Management Systems (e.g. Cornerstone) preferred.
  • Experience with content management software (e.g. Camtasia, Captivate, Articulate) preferred.
  • Knowledge with adult learning styles, strategies, and instructional design preferred.
  • Possess strong ownership characteristics and commitment to achieving results on time.
  • Have strong written and oral communicative skills.
  • Be a demonstrated “team player” with a quality orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess a creative mind in order to find novel design solutions
  • Have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative
  • Be willing to be “wrong” at times and be open to the ideas of others
  • Possess strong ownership characteristics and commitment to achieving results on time.
