Job Mission

Responsible for the smooth operation of building infrastructure systems. Plan, direct and coordinatefacility system upgrades, repairs, maintenance contracts and new projects as they relate to building’s physical operating systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc.).

Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of plant operating engineers. Approximately 20% managerial and 80% engineering/technical.
  • Coordinate planning and scheduling, maintain machines, equipment and facilities, buildings, structures etc. at the most economical minimum loss of production time and without interruption of production schedules.
  • Monitor environmental conditions to ensure compliance and work closely with environmental agency personnel and consultants on resolutions to environmental and safety issues.
  • Research, plan and prepare Acquisition Requests (AR’s) for approval relative to procurement of capital equipment, expansion construction, major maintenance projects, service contracts, etc.
  • Ensure reliable operation of plant equipment and develop methods to enhance or upgrade manufacturing processes to eliminate waste, reduce cost and improve overall production productivity.
  • Responsible for development and execution of preventative maintenance programs based on vendor recommendations.
  • Works with engineering and maintenance to develop and execute long-range programs, to include capacity planning, equipment and strategic capital investments.
  • Work constructively with the Operations team to resolve issues, improve plant productivity and resolve technical and engineering problems that affect day to day operations.
  • Keep well informed on new developments and techniques in the engineering, maintenance and managerial fields related to plant engineering.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment for all associates.
  • Support preparation of capex and opex budgets.
  • Obtain and review new and existing contracts for central plant equipment.
  • Establishing and maintaining great vendor relations.
  • Being fully accountable for equipment and systems maintenance records and proper documentation demonstrating a well organized system.
  • Supervise, direct, and provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel and contractors in support of facilities and production equipment.
  • Ensuring reliable availability of utilities and equipment without unplanned production downtime.
  • Establishes service and maintenance specifications.
  • Adheres to, and has full working knowledge of the plant safety program. Will have oversight responsibility over outside maintenance and contractors to ensure that they are working in a safe and hazard free environment.
  • Work with procurement on all facility purchases so they meet company requirements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze data to solve problems.
  • Work with user groups on facility requirements for new capital equipment, renovations or new build of manufacturing areas.
  • Work with user groups on process issues that may be due to facility supplied or controlled services.
  • Work with single source engineering team to develop the basis of design for facility projects to obtain documents for construction pricing in a timely manner to meet ASML’s schedule.
  • Obtain pricing for capital projects.
  • Schedule and manage all facets of capital projects from start to completion.
  • Work with sustainability team on projects to meet ASML’s goals (energy and CO2 reduction).
  • Assist with the day to day facility issues as they arise.
  • Maintain and monitor all environmental and process area’s to ensure that they are within specification for production.
  • Supervise operating engineers.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Work with Facilities team to maintainISO 9001 and 14000 compliance.

Education

Degree in Engineering or related field/Vocational and / or apprenticeship trades training or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • 15+ years’ Experience in Facilities/Manufacturing environment.
  • ISO and Product Management Knowledge / Experience.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, production gas and PLC control systems.
  • Proficient Verbal and Written English Communication.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), with the ability to effectively work with others in a team environment.
  • Strong leaderships skills are required.
  • Provide leadership for team and inform management of the current, as well as future needs of the facility.
  • Experience with direct supervision and experience mentoring maintenance employees.
  • Project management experience from inception, planning to completion.
  • Must be proficient with computers & software applications.
  • Must have basic knowledge of OSHA standards.
  • Has a passion for tinkering on motors, building things, designing new tools, passionate about improving processes, etc.
  • Identifying root causes and recommending the appropriate corrective actions proactively.
  • Must be able to support equipment or facility emergencies on off shifts and weekends.
  • Experience with electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, compressed air and gases, vacuumPLC’s and control systems.
  • Experience supporting both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Provide complex and occasionally innovative solutions to process engineering problems.
  • Review and modify existing preventative maintenance program to fit the ever increasing need for continuous operation of systems/equipment.
  • Ensure proper troubleshooting of systems/equipment to minimize down-time and eliminate reoccurring problems.
  • Experience in the semiconductor, optical manufacturing or related field a plus.
  • Can observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work.
  • Can learn and apply new information or skills.
  • Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.
