As a Defectivity control Engineer for electron beam system, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks including designing, developing, testing, analyzing, troubleshooting and implementing sub-assemblies and modules as you create and evaluate designs to meet requirements of specified applications. Your design activities will include defectivity control in high vacuum ,high voltage system environment. By tapping into your engineering acumen, you research and select future key suppliers for consideration as turn-key providers of sub-systems as well as develop resolutions to critical issues and broad design matters. You will work on issues that impact customer product yield loss issue or address future concepts, products, or technologies.
This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Developdefectivity requirement to ensure the functionality, performance,serviceability and availability for high-voltage electron beam systems andsubsystems.
Designmodules/concepts/processes to ensure the defectivity requirement is fullycontrolled, and to stabilize the high-voltage environment of the system.
Validatethe designed modules/concepts/processes through experiments, modeling andsimulation and theories.
Workcross-functionally and drive implementation of design best practices intoproduct design.
Deliverclear technical documents, provide effective presentation and written evaluationsto communicate concepts, designs, test results, etc.
Providetech support for system integration process, manufacturing process and fieldtroubleshooting process.
BA,MSc related to Materials Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering orPhysics, Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience
Musthave good understanding of Physics, Materials Science and ElectricalEngineering.
Strongknowledge in electrostatic discharge (ESD) and how to prevent or optimizeESD from the view of materials science, arc physics or high-voltage devicedesign.
3+years of hands-on experiments experience with strong design-of-experiments(DOE) skills to plan, conduct, analyze, and interpret results ofcontrolled tests.
2+years of hands-on experience with high-voltage devices including but notlimited to electrical contacts, insulator, conductor, etc.,.
2+years’ experience in materials characterization instruments and dataanalysis, including but not limited to optical inspection, SEM, EDX, FTIR,etc.,.
Teamwork spirit with teammembers
Good capability to evaluate andwork outside contractors, consultants, and machine shops.
Excellent English written andverbal communication skills.
Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
May require travel (specify domestic and/or international) dependent on business needs – specify percentage of travel.
