Job Mission

Drive the availability performance in the D&E organization to ensure that the DUV systems meets and exceed their availability performance

Job Description

The availability engineer will closely work together with the Availability Project lead and the Availability Architect for different DUV products. In this role you will have the chance to build up your network at ASML by interfacing with other DE projects, DE competences and customer support.
In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Analyze system availability with focus on design improvement.
  • Make availability forecast based on upcoming design implementations and introduction effects.
  • Perform deep dives on availability performance in the field to understand the root causes for availability loss and its impact.
  • Define and explain gaps between expected and actual specifications
  • Communicate the (future) improvement opportunities to close the gaps to a broad group of stakeholders.


Master Degree in a technical area, such as Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Optics/Physics.


  • More than 2 years’ experience in a multidisciplinary technical environment.
  • Proven track record with Service activities and specifically diagnostics and calibrations (RAMS).
  • Broad scope (software, mechanics, electronics, IT infrastructure).
  • Capable of doing analysis on new design to define the critical serviceability areas that shall require improvements.
  • Experience working in time and budget driven project environments.

Context of the position

The DE system Industrialization department is responsible to integrate and release DUV systems to Factory and Service at the agreed Time to Market with agreed industrialization maturity. Within the department the group Industrialization performance is responsible to predict assess and drive the system industrialization for Availability, Cycle Time and related cost. You will report to the Industrialization Performance Group Lead.
