Job Mission

The Decision Support (DS) department focusses on strategic and high stake operational corporate and business decisions across ASML. While being part of the Finance organization and through its broad scope, the DS department is involved with and exposed to very diverse challenges such as: Mergers & Acquisitions, Strategy Development, Portfolio Development. You are part of the team that defines and protects the quality of decision making in ASML. As a Decision Support Consultant you support, lead and facilitate project teams to enable ASML’s key decision makers to make high quality decisions.

Job Description

  • You actively interact with (senior) internal stakeholders to make high quality decisions and guide them towards the Decision Support department for support.
  • You lead, guide and support project teams through the necessary dialogue and analysis appropriate for the business situation and related project timelines.
  • You structure and communicate high quality (quantitative) insights providing senior management with a solid basis for decision making.
  • You guide, coach and develop the decision support team by learning on the job and you are part of the internal faculty to improve mindset towards decision making under uncertainty and build decision science capability within ASML.


To qualify for this position, you need to be able to demonstrate deep analytical skills and at the same time very strong people and communication skills. Typically a completed quantitative study at master or PhD level (e.g. operations research, econometrics, mathematics, engineering or physics) serves as a good basis to be successful in this role while an affinity with finance or (business) economics will be essential. The essential quantitative skills that are required is this job should in such case be demonstrated with specific and equivalent past working experience.


To qualify for this position you have 10-15 years’ experience in strategy/management consulting, or similar background. You have solid experience in project or program management, communicating with senior management and with facilitating and driving key decisions with decision support tools and processes in operations, merger & acquisitions, R&D / product portfolio management, strategy or supply chain management.

Personal skills

You have the ability to lead and facilitate project teams in situations that are highly analytically complex and cross-sector. You have excellent analytical and problem structuring skills and the ability to go in detail if the situation requires to do so. Apart from the quantitative skills we look for a person that is highly empathetic and can generate and effectively communicate fact based insights with a wide range of stakeholders, and most importantly C-level decision makers. You are a self-aware team player, flexible and with a proactive approach you thrive in a highly demanding, dynamic environment. You are fluent in English and preferably Dutch.

Context of the position

The Decision Support department is a team of five who support company-wide decision making processes and business modeling in order to enhance the quality of high impact decisions within ASML. Your position has high visibility within the ASML organization and is part of ASML’s Finance organization.
