Within ASML, the Management Support Organization (MSO) team is organized in one central department consisting of around 130 people strong, supporting over 400 managers. ASML is growing fast, so will the support of our ASML top managers.

As Manager of MSO you are responsible for leading a team of 3-5 Team Leads that directly report to you and around 130 Management Assistants that report to the Team Leads (indirectly to you).

Job Mission

You (further) design the organization and its positioning within ASML. You support the Team Leads in order to ensure the (strategic) objectives of MSO. You’re a true leader and driver with great people management capabilities and are also able to keep aligned with the broad field of (senior) stakeholders within ASML.

Job Description

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Develop policies and objectives for the MSO department and contribute to the development of the strategy together with Head of Presidents’ Office;
  • Develop, Manage and Ensure realization of the year plan/budget (TAP) and acquire approval;
  • Evaluate organizational design, (work)processes and systems and initiate and implement changes and improvements.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Team Lead (TL) and team performance;
  • Attract, lead, coach, appraise and develop (the cooperation between) TL’s, ensure staffing MSO within budget;
  • Build and maintain a network of in- and external stakeholders/partners and represent the MSO organization;
  • Coordinate and manage the operational annual plan;
  • Coach TL’s in aligning support request and mediate in non-routine cases;
  • Coordinate multiple improvement projects (MSO level), or projects in multidisciplinary areas.


A Bachelor Degree is necessary, a Master is a plus.


In order to be successful in this role you need:

  • At least 7 years of experience in people management roles, preferably with experience managing a department;
  • Experience in Change Management;
  • Managing big teams (in this role you will manage directly 4 team leads but indirectly around 130 Management Assistants);
  • Experience managing teams which have a mix level of experience (from junior to senior);
  • Experience managing Management Assistants, a call center or in retail is a plus

  • You are a strategic leader who is able to critically evaluate their team's priorities while keeping high level business priorities in mind;
  • You are able to make recommendations for improvement of further professionalizing our Management Support Organization;
  • You are able to execute strategy and direction and implement change where necessary.


  • You have strong people management skills;
  • You are a strong relationship builder with senior management. Not afraid to challenge, able to give feedback tactfully and apply multiple styles in engaging stakeholders;
  • You have analytical skills (ability to assess and validate data quality, causal relations, quantitative information, etc.).
