ASML US brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler Arizona, San Jose and San Diego California, Wilton Connecticut, and Hillsboro Oregon.

Job Mission

Establish DfR methodology for new product development and work with system engineering, product development function clusters and other sectors to make new product meet reliability spec. Analyzes product reliability data, determine reliability improvement direction and actions and work with engineering to improve reliability of the products in field.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

-Based on reliability specs defined by system engineering budget key component/module reliability requirements and specs.
-Analyzes projected system utilization and calculates cumulative effect on final system reliability of key component/module reliabilities.
-Analyzes preliminary engineering-design concepts of key components or modules to recommend design or test methods for attaining budgeted reliability specs, using knowledge of reliability engineering and other technologies.
-Organize or participate FMEA sessions with design team to determine reliability risks and come up mitigation plan.
-Formulates mathematical models, using computer-aided engineering equipment, to identify units posing excessive failure risks and support proposed changes in design.
-Using simulation software or develop computer models to simulate the effect of electrical inputs, transient conditions, temperature, stress, and other factors on component/module reliability, analyzes the result of simulation and propose design changes to improve system reliability.
-Design component and module reliability test, run the test and propose design changes based on reliability test data.
-Advises and confers with engineers in design review meetings to give reliability findings and recommendations.
-Reviews engineering specifications and drawings, proposing design modifications to improve reliability within cost and other performance requirements.
-Monitors failure data generated by customer or service engineers to ascertain potential requirement for product improvement, jointly determine the improvement direction and approach with design team.
