Job Mission

  • Enable scheduled events (installations, upgrades and relocations) at our customer factories, by acting as demand owner, interfacing with our main stakeholders and driving improvements in our products and core processes.
  • During these events (a significant) part of the machine is replaced by modules that allow for e.g., increased output and enhanced specifications.
  • These on-site upgrade activities create extremely demanding requirements for the supply chain processes, driven by the sensitivity of the parts (cleanroom handling only), the strict needs to minimize machine downtime and the constantly changing specifications of machines. Goal is to establish a true “field factory” environment that allows engineers to perform the installation with maximum efficiency and minimum downtime.
  • All these processes ultimately enable ASML’s customers to continue improving the performance of the laptops, tablets and smartphones that we all use, ensure successful delivery of all logistic requirements for all upgrade and installation events in the region, contribute to the logistic project team to ensure that the (thousands of) high-tech parts are delivered on time, on-spec and at the right quality at the customer site, meet the delivery requirements that have been agreed with the customers and ASMLs engineering team.

Job Description

  • Ownership of products from portfolio of upgrades, installs and relocations in terms of demand, operational costs and continuous improvements
  • Drive development of the Supply Chain Management 2021 roadmap for Upgrades, Installs and Relocations, based on business targets
  • Responsibility for initiating, executing and implementing improvement projects within the Customer Supply Chain Management department:
    - Subject matter expert for departmental projects
    - Business Process Lead representing Upgrades, Installs and Relocations group
    - Standardization of team processes and interfaces
    - Structural improvements of processes within/cross-departmental
  • Facilitation and development of KPI processes
  • Initiation of BKM & cross learnings
  • Build-up effective work relation with stakeholders within and outside of own department (e.g. Customer Service, 3PL, Business Line and Marketing)


Relevant Master degree (e.g. Industrial Engineering and Management Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain or Engineering)


  • 3-7 years relevant experience in a large international company (industry or consultancy), ideally Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations or Procurement background
  • Knowledge of business complexity, supply chain and/or relevant industry
  • A tactical thinker with strong interpersonal and communication skills, decision making skills, change management skills, people management skills and project management skills
  • Analytical and able to organize and prioritize workload

Context of the position

The Customer Supply Chain Management (CSCM) team is responsible for meeting service level agreements (SLAs) with customers. System downtime costs customers up to a million USD per day so SLAs are extremely tight, with downtime waiting for parts and tools limited to as little as 20 minutes per system per week. CSCM manages such challenges in a global network with thousands of unique spare parts and delivers true customer satisfaction through differentiated and affordable supply chain services. ASML’s aggressive time-to-market strategy and increasing system functionality means machines are often upgraded at the customer during their lifetime. CSCM’s highly educated workforce drives planning and execution of the supply chain aspects of commercial upgrades, field change orders, machine shipments and transfers.
