Job Mission

The mission of the Assembly Technician is to enable our field service engineers to be successful in supporting our customers. As an expert in your subsystem you will function as the technical interface between CS Local organizations and ASML Headquarters.

As an Assembly Technician, you will design, realize, and to a limited extent manage the infrastructure cabling and modules of the ASML products.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Job Description

  • The candidate should be skilled in assembly and rework of electronic modules, cables (including BNC, SMB, D-Sub, column feedthrough, HV type, including LEMO and Harting type) and fiber-optic cables, with accuracy, quality and efficiency, and independently.
  • Familiar with different types of components, connectors, wires and cables, and unique assembly and testing technology to each type.
  • Capable to read and understand cable schematics and mechanical drawings, and to make simple mechanical alteration.
  • Builds and validates assemblies accordance with procedure.
  • Executes simple standardized process inspections/tests throughout the production process.
  • Interfaces with engineers to support special builds, and experiments with detailed instructions.
  • Collaborates with peers and/or supervisors to resolve problems depending on the level and complexity.
  • Uses cleaning cloths with Acetone, Methanol, and Isopropyl alcohol to wipe surfaces prior to shipping product.
  • Prepares completed assemblies for shipment.
  • Recommends procedural improvements to management.
  • Follows control measures and processes to ensure the quality of modules produced.
  • Identifies and documents discrepant material.
  • Maintains a clean work area, and is responsible for designated tools (routine maintenance and calibration).
  • Trains others on areas of processes and troubleshooting when required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Minimum high school education or comparable education required.
  • Associate education degree in engineering is preferred.

Experience

  • At least 3+ years of relevant, work related experience required.
  • Experience in assembly and rework of electronic modules, cables, etc.
  • Experience working with different types of components, connectors, wires and cables, and unique assembly and testing technology.
  • Skilled in reading and understanding cable schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Previous experience using standardized tools and electric equipment (i.e., torque wrenches, electric and pneumatic screwdrivers and ball drivers) to perform mechanical assembly on opto-mechanical assemblies.
  • Good computer skills, using labeler, timesheet entry and so on.
  • Skilled in following control measures and processes ensuring the quality of modules produced, and identifying and documents discrepant material
