Job Mission

Your main task as System Configuration Engineer Support is to drive system level configuration compliance of systems during the integration, verification, and build phase. The SCE collaborates within the system integration team, with D&E projects, manufacturing and customer support to ensure we verify our products on the right configuration and build our systems with the right configuration so we can service them properly at our customers.

Job Description

Main Activities and responsibilities

  • Maintain, describe and align on the system level configurations of a product during its integration, verification and release to Manufacturing and Service
  • Translate system configurations into traceable critical configuration items with expected and actual values per configuration on proto and production systems.
  • Drive compliance of the first of a kind systems to 100%. Analyze and report on the deviations.
  • Share configuration management expertise and enable usage of Configuration Management in other processes
  • Guide D&E on the correct configurationmanagement rules usage
  • Advise on product release status based on configuration data


Academic level in industrial / logistics / engineering or technical business Administration via education or experience.


  • 3-5 years of experience in process improvement in configuration management field of expertise.
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management theory, preferably CMII certified.
  • Experience with stakeholder management on all levels.

  • Excellent communication and listening skills, with political sensitivity.
  • Self-assured, capable of convincing people, also when it concerns specialized content experts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, work pleasantly with people with differing backgrounds and in different departmental and geographical cultures, at various hierarchical levels.

Context of the position

The DE (Development & Engineering) P&I (Performance & Integration) System Integration department is responsible for the integration, verification and release of system configurations such that these can be manufactured and installed within the required quality and can also be maintained in the field. We supportBusiness Line, Manufacturing and Customer service to achieve customer satisfaction.

The DUV System Integration Department within the D&E organization integrates the changes on system level. Clarity on CM are more and more key. Creating and maintaining the CM processes in System Integration are key in creating the transparent baselines we need to verify System Configurations.
The system configuration engineer reports to the manager System Integration Management and Verification within the D&E Performance and Integration organization.
