Are you a Bachelor or Master in Physics, Chemistry or Material Science? Are you an innovative thinker who is interested in getting scientific insights? Then this internship could be interesting for you!
This assignment will be addressed in the Construction materials corrosion & bonding department in collaboration with other groups too.
During this internship, you will investigate the suitability of nitrocarburizing treatment to few selected steels. Of interest here are surface and subsurface properties evaluation such as corrosion resistance or hardness. Side effects of the treatment such as distortion should be also considered.The results will help in determining if the treatment has net advantages over applying metallic coatings.
Through this internship you will be involved with the followings:
- Literature study regarding performance of similar materials
- Plan the parametric study together with the supervisor.
- Conduct systematic measurements and estimate specific errors.
- Analyze data and verify the existent models according to literature.
- Write internal report
- You are a Bachelor or Master in Physics, Chemistry or Material Science.
- You are organized and enthusiastic
- You are an innovative thinker
- You have excellent communication skills
- You are capable to program in Matlab or similar system.
This is a bachelor apprentice or master apprentice/ graduation internship for 5 days a week with a duration of a minimum 6 months.
Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship.
