Job Mission

As part of the central Sourcing & Supply Chain Project Program and Portfolio department, the Project Portfolio Manager will work closely with the Supply Chain Planning Excellence team. To realize the Planning vision, the team needs to set itself up for success to navigate the upcoming ramp, while managing the growing installed base & supply chain complexity in a smarter way. The Planning Excellence team is dedicated team within the Supply Chain Planning department to simplify, integrate and automate the Planning processes within our E2E Supply Chain.

  • Documenting and simplifying our way of working in standards to allow us to scale efficiently;
  • Setting up robust processes that can be executed in SAP without workarounds;
  • Automating activities and applying business intelligence to operate more proactively;
  • Re-establishing roles and responsibilities within Operations (and our E2E supply chain)Within the Planning Excellence team, the Project Portfolio Manager will be the catalyst to drive these Operational Excellence objectives within the department. He/she will identify and deliver the required changes that need to be made to certain processes, activities and/or roles to make the department more robust and futureproof in line with the strategic objectives. He/she will also drive the change to make it stick in our DNA.

Job Description

In this role you will:

  • Identify and understand projects within ASML impacting the Supply Planning core processes.
  • Provide single version of truth for project and project portfolio information, in order to have transparency of performance needed by management to monitor progress versus the tactical roadmap.
  • Support senior management by prioritizing the right projects with informed decisions and governance.
  • Manage the project portfolio via the ASML Operations N-PGP standards to guarantee quality and predictable outcome.
  • Develop and/or adopt ways to measure the impact of the improvementsManage projects to simplify and/or automate our ways of working.
  • Map and structure As-Is/To-Be processes with (senior) stakeholders.
  • Work closely with internal customers to gather business requirements to enhance existing business processes.
  • Generate process gaps, solutions and alignment needs using interviews, workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
  • Develop project and deployment plans for improvements.
  • Participate in cross-department project work streams / programs.
  • Establish long-term working relationships with internal stakeholders.


  • Academic level in Logistics Management, Industrial Engineering, Econometrics, Operations research, Information Management.
  • APICS certification, Project Management certification (SCRUM/Agile/PRINCE).


  • 5-7 years relevant experience in Portfolio, Project Management and Supply Chain Planning (preferably in a high-tech, low-volume environment).
  • Proven project management skills (incl. Lean/Agile methods), planning and organizational skills (stakeholder and change management).
  • Superior data analysis and problem-solving skills (incl. data crunching / process analysis).
  • Experience with advanced planning systems (SAP IBP preferred).

  • Exceptional analytical skills with ability to understand the details and the bigger picture.

The sector Sourcing & Supply Chain (S≻ part of Operations) is an industry-leading organization, responsible for ensuring material availability to ASML's factories and customers in an efficient and cost-effective way. Because 90% of all components in an ASML machine come from externally sourced specialist manufacturers, our supply chain planning activities are even more critical to our operation than you would normally expect.

The Project, Program & portfolio management department plays a crucial role as the recognized front door for strategy and change for the S&SC sector in ASML. Portfolio Management specifically ensures that S&SC can leverage its project selection and execution success, optimizing business value while achieving the strategic objectives. It is our way to bridge the gap between strategy and implementation."

The Supply Chain Planning department (part of Sourcing & Supply Chain management) has the mission to satisfy the consolidated Business Line demand by constructing an agreed Integral Supply Plan that optimizes business opportunities, costs and risks and by driving the execution of the plan.
