Introduction

Are you a Master student in Data Science, Computer Science or a related technical field? Are you interested in being exposed to a new technology in an industrial environment? Then this apprentice internship could be interesting for you!

Job Mission

An internship at the Metrology department of ASML is a great opportunity to experience working in a dynamic and international environment where you will be challenged daily to push technology boundaries further.

Metrology orchestrates the behavior of powerful mechatronic modules, so that together they achieve an extraordinary combination of speed and accuracy. It’s basically the brain of ASML lithography systems.

Job Description

Data from ASML machines are gathered for monitoring performance and analysis. This data is collected to enable and close our development feedback loop.
For Wafer Alignment, this data is particularly useful to (1) measure product adoption, (2) collect typical values measured in the field to validate thresholds used in our machines and (3) to draw conclusions on how products and services are being used.

This assignment is about further developing and implementing a method to extract and assign lot context data by combining several sources of data that are retrieved. By classifying the data based on lot, this data can be used to enrich Wafer Alignment objects for analysis purposes. Additionally, parameters and test results from ASML machines may be plotted per lot. Number of failures per lot may also be measured as part of the assignment. Finally it is important to show the results by generating plots that can be used on the Wafer Alignment dashboard.

You will interact with a Wafer Alignment architect and several engineers that are involved in extending the Julia/database feedback loop tooling.

Education

• You are a Master student in Data Science, Computer Science or a related technical field;
• You have (project) experience in SQL and Python;
• Affinity with Julia and several plotting packages for dashboard purposes is highly preferred;
• The English language is required.

This is a Master apprentice internship for 4-5 days a week with a duration of a 3-4 months. The start date is as soon as possible.

Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship.

ASML: Be part of progress
We make machines that make chips – the hearts of the devices that keep us informed, entertained and safe; that improve our quality of life and help to tackle the world’s toughest problems.

We build some of the most amazing machines that you will ever see, and the applications to run them. Never satisfied, we measure our performance in units that begin with pico or nano.

We believe we can always do better. We believe the winning idea can come from anyone. We love what we do – not because it’s easy, but because it’s hard. At ASML we are always pushing technology further.

Students: Getting ready for the real-world
Teamwork is key within ASML. Our R&D team is more than 5,500 people strong and worldwide we form one big team with over 25,000 employees. These colleagues have 123 different nationalities and work at our major sites on three continents.

Dozens of diverse, interdisciplinary teams work in parallel to meet a challenging development schedule. In this inspiring environment, your colleagues may be sitting next door, or they could be thousands of kilometers away in a different country, or even working for a different company.

An internship at ASML is your opportunity to get to know this world and get a feel for that excites you most. Use your education, gain real-life working experience and explore the world of high-tech – all at the same time.

How will you be part of progress?
