Job Mission

As a Production Engineer you are involved in issues as second line support in the production process in the EUV factory (EF). This means that you apply your technical knowledge and skills to solve issues that directly impact the cycle times and the product quality of these state-of the art, highly complex lithography machines in order to secure the trust of our customers. You are the bridge between R&D and the factory to maintain the overview of the design, maintenance and optimization of the manufacturing operations.

Job Description

As a Production Engineer your job content depends on your knowledge, skills and interests. The PE department consists of multiple clusters with a focus on different parts of the Extreme Ultra Violet machine. In the end, all these clusters collaborate to work towards the same goal: delivering high quality products within the committed cycle time. The overall pillars are as follows:

Generic

As an Extreme Ultra Violet Production Engineer you will contribute to the 4 main PE drivers:

- Increase efficiency;

- Increase quality;

- Decrease cycle times;

- Decrease costs.

Continuous Improvement

- Analyze the manufacturing procedures both on the factory floor as from roadmaps (cycle time and labor hours) and pointing out structural problems and bottlenecks;

- Work out suggestions for improvements and initiate their implementation often in close cooperation with the surrounding departments such as Development, Supply Chain and Customer Support;

- Continuously adapt and optimize operating instructions, routings, process parameters and indicators;

- You get the opportunity to initiate your own improvement ideas, such as setting up processes for re-use of materials or introducing new tooling on the factory floor.

Support

- Contribute to the rapid solution of complex issues on the factory floor and take the necessary initiatives and practical decisions to help resolve them;

- Support the engineers at the customer site who require your assistance from the ASML headquarters in Veldhoven during system install issues;

- For regular support stand-by might be required.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

- You use your knowledge in product or process development projects, in order to foresee manufacturing problems in the design phase and improve the manufacturability of the product;

- You are actively involved in the release for volume take over from R&D to the factory floor where Extreme Ultraviolet lithography machines are produced.

Education

Bachelor degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical- or Electrical Engineering, Physics or comparable.

Experience

We are looking for candidates with a relevant educational background and 0 – 2 years of experience in a production environment.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing is an advantage;

• Experience as a Technical Production Engineer and quality methodology such as statistical process control.

• Flexible, can cope with stress;

• Strong analytical mind;

• Team player;

• Good social and communicative skills;

• Excellent English language level in speech and writing.

Context of the position

The sector Manufacturing within Operations is responsible for the production of Extreme Ultra Violet machines. The complete production process of the most advanced machines takes place within the Manufacturing departments in the EUV factory.

In the factory, the department of Production Engineering continuously adapts, optimizes and supports the manufacturing processes. We actively achieve the impossible!

The holder of this position reports to a group leader within the PE department within the EUV factory.
