For our cooperation project 3FM with Zeiss SMT we’re looking for a pioneer in the field of Industrialization. If you enjoy working on system level and like to influence the industrialized design work towards D&E projects via reliability analysis and product design, to ensure High Volume release towards the EXE:5000, then the combined function of a Reliability Architect and Project lead can be your next position. This position is on an LTA basis for one year with possible extension after mutual agreement.

Job Mission

The Reliability Experts goal is to analyze the 3FM system reliability, define business cases with the (Zeiss) D&E projects to increase the system reliability, improve the Service mix for this system and drive for results all over to ensure commonality and competency build-up with Zeiss Operations. You will make reliability forecasts based on upcoming design implementations and introduction effects and perform deep dives on reliability performance in the fab to understand correlations & trends. Also you will be challenged to define the Service design together with System Engineering and the D&E architects. Next to this a risk analysis and verification strategy is needed to release this Service mix. This is done in close cooperation with the local Availability and System Integration projects.

Job Description

  • Increase the 3FM product and process robustness with a strong focus on the Zeiss Product Improvement and Sustaining projects. With these projects you will focus on:
  • Analyze system reliability with focus on design improvements.
  • Make reliability forecast based on upcoming design implementations and introduction effects.
  • Align the Reliability Roadmap with System Engineering and Zeiss operations.
  • Do structural reliability analyses and make Reliability test descriptions TPS and TAR
  • Perform deep dives on reliability performance in the fab to understand correlations & trends.
  • Define and explain gaps between expected and actual specifications
  • Communicate the (future) focus priority to close the specification gaps to a broad group of stakeholders. Contribute to the design of the high level sequence design (SDS: ownership by System Engineering)
  • Contribute to the definition of the budget breakdown and Product Breakdown Structure (PBS) for Cycle Time and MTTR together with System Engineering
  • Perform the impact analyses towards reliability and work preparation based on the PBS by organizing process FMEA’s
  • Create the verification strategy for service design, defining how to mitigate the identified risks on the 3FM system in the most effective way.
  • Close the feedback loop for reliability issues from specifications (SDS) via design (sequence) to actuals (execution) and back.
  • Analyze and support system integration and work preparation issues.
  • Support knowledge transfer of competence (through interaction with SMT-ETRP) and has knowledge of Design for Reliability WoW and is connected to the Reliability competence.


Master degree in technical engineering with experience or background in industrialization and service design of complex equipment.

  • Technical knowledge of complex systems;
  • Proven track record with Service activities and specifically diagnostics and calibrations (RAMS);
  • Knowledge on system level (generalist) with a broad scope (software, mechanics, electronics, IT infrastructure);
  • Organizational talent, experience within stakeholder management.


Typically you will have >5 years of relevant working experience in a multidisciplinary technical environment. We are looking for experienced professionals with ambition to work in a high tech industry and able to communicate on different levels with different cultures. Experienced with the ASML Integration mindset is an asset.
