The Engineering IT Services Software (EIS) group within ASML is responsible for the software development environment. This environment consists of an integrated development, build, test and release environment and must be capable to support the lifecycle and configuration management of the ASML product software. The environment is developed and maintained in close cooperation with the ASML software development community.

Key challenge is on one hand to have a state-of-the-art environment to support the newest product development and on the other hand safeguard the stability and reliability and long term support for the growing installed product base at our customers.

Job Description

This role involves taking ownership by completing designs, implement changes and the ability to thoroughly test deliverables. You will be a technical expert in the Patch & Release DevOps team. This is done in close co-operation with the EIS infrastructure and application support teams, internal customers and EIS Software Architects. The software used in the Patch & Release domain is being developed in Python and Ruby and range from command line tools to custom web applications.
You will need to have a hands-on mindset, strong customer- and problem-solving orientation, shows fast results and have great communication skills. To achieve the project goals, you need to be able to liaise directly with all stakeholders.


Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science, IT or similar.


- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Relevant experience in large/complex technical development environments.
- Thorough understanding and practical experience (of at least three) of the key technologies used:
- Python + Flask
- Ruby + Rails
- Oracle 18
- Redis
- React
- Puppet
- Can setup and perform functional/system tests.

- Able to handle issues from demanding customers in a professional way.

- The Software Development Engineer will work within complex application landscapes with multiple programming languages, interfaces and components per application.

Context of the position

EIS uses an Agile methodology and is in transition to use SAFe. ASML produces specific software as part of its solutions and products for its customers. This software is proprietary and part of the intellectual property of ASML. Currently ASML employs over 3000 software developers and this number is still growing. These ASML software developers rely on the software development environment to be able to perform their jobs.
