Job Mission

The selected candidate will join our Field Application team in Boise ID to support our key customer on daily basis. He/she will play a key role in enabling our business success through inspection and/or metrology recipe development for customer’s yield improvement and provide input to internal stakeholders on customer needs and gaps.

Hermes Microvision, Inc. (HMI), an ASML company, is a leading supplier of advanced E-beam inspection and pattern verification systems used for advanced semiconductor devices. HMI has multiple years of e-beam application experience and leadership in semiconductor factories, focused on high resolution and voltage contrast imaging. As part of ASML, HMI will boost ASML’s holistic lithographic portfolio of (i) lithography exposure systems, (ii) computational lithography and (iii) metrology. Between these three cornerstones ASML offers application products for process window enhancement, control and detection. We are located in the heart of San Jose and growing!

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Job Description

  • Work closely with customer on daily basis to develop recipes using world's most advanced EBI equipment for defect inspection and CD metrology monitoring, to help customer improve their semiconductor process yield.
  • Routinely Monitor inline defect inspection or CD Metrology results, making sure data generated from HMI's EBI equipment is in good quality; verify tool status after Preventative Maintenance and major tool down incidence, and work with field service on image and inspection related troubleshooting.
  • Identify gaps between tool’s capability and customer detection & metrology needs; feedback to Marketing and R&D teams, and work closely with them on new feature development, including proposing new functions, technical discussion and providing engineering testing and feedback, etc.
  • Execute NPI tools’ evaluation project and head-to-head competition at customer site,and work closely with technical support team and R&D to secure the success.
  • Drive up HMI tool’s utilization through high quality recipe development, gap defect closure and in-depth technical engagement with customer defect and metrology teams.
  • Support application activities of global customer Fabs, including gap defect detection, CIP implementation, recipes transfer & matching, etc.
  • Generate reports and BKMs on new application cases and share with global Application teams.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Material Science, Electrical Engineering, or other related engineering fields.Master’s or PhD degree is desired.

Experience

  • At least 5 years relevant, work related experience with a BS degree.Minimum 2 years of relevant, work related experience with a Master’s degree, or 1 year relevant, work related experience with a PhD.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Semiconductor process or equipment.Metrology experience is a plus. Working knowledge with SEM or advanced optical measurement equipment is a strong plus.
  • Experience conducting data analysis required, using MATLAB, Python and/or JMP. Generating reports and presenting to customers, marketing, etc.
  • Experience troubleshooting complicated technical issues.
  • Strong customer service / support experience with focus and commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Must have strong communication skill, be able to deliver message to internal and external stakeholder clearly.
  • Detailed oriented individuals with strong critical thinking, problem solving and follow-up skills.
  • Fast learner with strong self-motivation to grow technical competency.

  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Can we be more specific:Must be willing to lift up to X pounds, pull Y pounds at least once a day and spend the majority of time (greater than 90% less break time) on the floor working on tool sets, walking three to five miles a day, and/or standing/sitting for nine hours.
