Job Mission

Managing the data and information related to our complex products is of the highest importance to ASML as this data and information is used throughout the company to manage and improve our operations and products. To have insight in and control over the creation and consumption of our product data, we maintain product data models including connections with our business processes and application landscape. The Enterprise (Product) Data Architect is responsible for steering and governing the definition and maintenance of the conceptual, logical and physical end-to-end product data model for the full ASML business process landscape, while guiding and closely cooperating with the designated product data architects in the various business process areas.

Job Description

Your role as a Enterprise (Product) Data Architect:

The Enterprise (Product) Data Architect is the orchestrator of the end-to-end data model needle across the entire ASML organization, with initial focus on product data model. Main responsibilities include:
-Steering and governing the definition and maintenance of the conceptual, logical and physical end-to-end (product) data model for the full ASML business process landscape
-Translate business and IT requirements into impact on the product data model, align this impact with senior business and IT stakeholders and drive company wide implementation of and adherence to the new set up, both in the impacted application landscape as well as the connected organizations
-Define and maintain product data standards for configurable machines with complex BOM structures and connect our whole organization on these standards and structures
-Structure IT lingo to business insights and vice versa
-Establish a highly effective collaborative virtual team of assigned (product) data architects in applicable business process areas
-Establish effective collaboration between IT, business and data architects and define their roles and interaction in business, data and IT transformation
-Set-up and further mature the data modeling/business information modeling capability
-Manage a variety of (senior) stakeholders with a keen eye for detail combined with a perfect understanding of the larger picture
-Drive complex tasks to completion and use creativity to deal with roadblocks where needed


- University degree (e.g. Information Management, (Technical) Business Administration)
- 10+ years working experience
- Proven experience in a complex configurable products business environment, preferably in multiple business domains (Innovation/R&D, Supply chain, Manufacturing, Customer Service), where experience with PLM is a must
- Proven experience with data modeling techniques
- Experience with SAP (S/4HANA) and additional experience with Siemens Team Centre is a pre
- Experience in a data management role would be a pre
- Experience in a leadership role in a multi-year business transformation program would be a pre
- Experience in working in an Agile IT environment would be a pre

Context of the position

The Enterprise (Product) Data Architect is part of the Chief Data Office (CDO). The CDO ambition is to ensure availability of high quality and trusted data for ASML management, employees and customers. By treating data as a valuable asset, we are able to unlock its value for ASML and increasing our revenue, realizing operational excellence and protecting our company. The CDO office is currently positioned within IT and focuses on establishing ASML-wide common foundation that are needed to realize our data ambition, including data & information governance and corresponding data architecture. The culture within CDO is informal, open, direct, pragmatical and result driven.
