Job Mission

Within ASML the Release Train Engineer (RTE) is the recognized Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) expert and competence owner, who orchestrates the agile teams through the ceremonies in an Agile Release Train (ART) and helps the train to deliver value.

The RTE together with the Chief Product Owner ensures performance of the train and provides full transparency on what is going on in the ART. The RTE has regular communication to teams & stakeholders and ensure stakeholders are being managed and teams stay engaged.

Job Description

As Release Train Engineer your role is essential for delivering our deliverables in time. You'll be responsible for building a performing train; for organizing the Agile release train ceremonies and for making sure that the agreed upon deliverables are delivered timely and at the right quality. You'll reach this target by coaching teams to optimize the development processes and by coaching and developing Scrum Masters.

You'll be working very closely with multiple internal and demanding stakeholders such as Architects, Product Owners, Line Managers, Project Managers and of course your team of Scrum Masters and the teams they facilitate.

You will be responsible to ensure that the existing Agile release train runs in the most optimal way for fast and high quality value delivery. Some of the challenges you'll face in this role are: relentless improvement of the ART, protecting that the agile release train stays on track with deliverables by managing escalations and changing priorities, making sure the stakeholders are managed, ensuring teams stay engaged and managing the cadence and facilitate rituals.

Education

A Msc. degree in Computer Sciences, Physics, or Mathematics.

Experience

  • Background in development in a complex technical (production) environment
  • 3+ years of work experience in an RTE (or similar) role in within an Agile a high-tech, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Very senior Scrum Master experience is could also be relevant for this postion

Personal skills

To be successful in this role you'll need to excel in the following skills:
- have strong coaching skills & sharp observer
- able to explain and defend the values of SAFe
- organize energizing SAFe ceremonies
- change leadership, continuous improvement and process management

Context of the position

Wafer Alignment is part of the Metrology Measure department in Development & Engineering and is responsible for the Functional & Software specification and design of the models and mechanisms to compensate for deformations in the horizontal plane of the wafer. The amount of employees in your scope as Release Train Engineer is approximately 100 people, distributed over 8 teams.
